Vowel is a Portuguese drum & bass producer known for his futuristic sound design, emotional depth, and conceptual approach to music. After emerging from the underground with a refined and evolved style, he made a strong comeback with his EP on Overview Music, showcasing a more mature and intricate sound. Originally inspired by artists like Pendulum, Noisia, and Mefjus, Vowel blends complex bass-heavy production with influences drawn from across genres: from Ital Tek and Lorn to Dorian Concept and Bleu Clair. A fan of Japanese culture and cinematic storytelling, he often attaches deeper themes to his tracks, as heard in “Shokunin,” inspired by the pursuit of mastery. In addition to his solo work, Vowel is also a co-manager of Surveillance Music, a forward-thinking label committed to pushing boundaries in the Drum & Bass scene, regardless of artist profile or popularity.
